Length overall, hull length and bowsprit: which figure counts in a marina
Listings often give a single “length”, while manufacturer specifications distinguish several dimensions. Before booking a marina berth or transport, establish which one matters.

The hull is not the whole boat
According to the manufacturer the Sun Odyssey 350 has a 9.99 m hull length and a 10.40 m length overall. That difference of over 40 cm may be charged by a marina.
A bowsprit adds length
Bavaria C38 in the current table: 10.99 m hull, 11.31 m overall and 11.90 m with bowsprit. Ask the seller whether the boat has a bowsprit.
Older material may give other figures
The older C38 brochure gives 11.38 m. The page shows both values and cites the source of each.
Questions before booking
How does the marina measure length? Is equipment protruding beyond the hull included? What beam do the boat's documents state? Confirm the answers in writing.
